ASICS
Asics running shoes and clothing for men and women
Asics is a Japanese brand specializing in the design of running shoes and aerobic clothing for athletes. It was created in 1949 by a young shoemaker, Kihachiro Onitsuka, who, after observing the movements of basketball players, decided to manufacture and market shoes for athletes. First, he designed the Tiger model, which became a success in 1951 when it was worn by the winner of the Boston Marathon. A few years later, the Asics basketball shoe was born. Today, the Asics brand is most famous for its running shoes. In 2007, upon the death of Kihachiro Onitsuka, former athlete Motoi Oyama took over as head of the company. This was sold to the Swedish company Haglöfs in 2010.
