It was in 1981 that Ulrich Dausien created the Jack Wolfskin brand in Idstein, Germany, specializing in outdoor equipment. Ten years later, he sold his company to Johnson Outdoors, which kept it for eleven years before selling it to the American company Bain Capital. In 2019, the brand passed into the hands of the Californian group Callaway Golf, the leading golf equipment manufacturer in the United States. With the acquisition of Jack Wolfskin, Callaway Golf is entering the growing premium outerwear segment and targeting the international market. Today, the brand has more than 850 stores and its products are also available through more than 400 partner distributors.
